Hazel Terry

Hazel Terry was raised with a macaw, a donkey and countless cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, goats, pigs and foxes. A childhood spent amongst these wonderful creatures shaped her character and imagination.
Formal art training began at Great Yarmouth College of Art – a wonderful art college in East Anglia where Hazel was to complete a General Art and Design Diploma under the watchful eye of an eclectic and fantastically inspiring group of technicians, tutors and visiting lecturers.
Her studies continued in Fine Craft Design at York Street Art College, Belfast and then Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art.
After graduation, Hazel traveled with her partner for many years and worked in Australia as a teacher and interior designer.
Upon her return to Scotland, Hazel continued to teach and was employed at the Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop. During this time she also had solo exhibitions of painting at two of Edinburgh's independent cinemas - The Cameo and The Edinburgh Film House.
Hazel currently lives north of Edinburgh with her partner and their two children.
She is a committed and popular blogger - 'the art room plant' has had continued and growing success for over six years. Expanding interests and experience also led to her dedicated fashion and furniture design blogs which have been running for four years.
Hazel laughs a lot and loves to see beauty and fun in life and this shows in her diverse portfolio.
